How You Can Help
Book Fair
Promote Reading and help our library grow! Help sell books at one of various time slots. Be a part of an event that encourages our children to read. Assist children and parents in selecting book fair items and checking out. Time commitment depends on how much you want to work at the fair.
Box Tops
Help pick up, cut and count boxtops which earn money for our school. This is a great volunteer opportunity for those wanting to help from home and on their own schedule.
Child Welfare
Volunteers are needed to collect and deliver various food and gift items during the holidays for families in need.
Classics in the Classroom
No artistic abilities are required! Volunteers are needed to give short but fun lessons to a class on music and art. All lesson materials are provided and include simple to follow instructions. You may teach as few or as many classes as you’d like.
Fall Fundraiser
Volunteers help distribute sales brochures, collect and tally forms and help distribute prizes.
Hospitality
Coordinate treats/catering for special occasions and meetings. Chairperson for events will contact the Hospitality Chair when foods/drinks are needed. Hospitality volunteers will organize a host of treats for the teachers, guests and families. Help is needed throughout the year.
Junior Achievement
Here is a fun opportunity to teach kids the very important basics of economics and business. All lesson materials and directions are provided. Remember, these are young children you’ll be teaching so don’t be intimidated by the subject material.
Little Red School House
Help Northlake students continue their successful tradition of reading tens of thousands of minutes each year! Volunteers are needed to acquire prizes, gather reading logs, total children’s minutes, and distribute rewards.
Membership
Assist with PTA Membership campaign to encourage enrollment in the PTA. Time commitment is primarily at the beginning of the school year. This team will also organize the rewards for classes/teachers with the most members.
Programs
This is a fun job where you get to plan the various assemblies that will be put on for the students.
Recycling
Oversee the collection and redemption of plastic bags, ink/toner cartridges and cell phones. This is an ongoing job that requires one very dedicated volunteer or a few working together.
Red Ribbon Week
This week is spent focusing on the very important message of saying NO to drugs. Volunteers come up with fun ideas to promote awareness.
Reflections Program
Share your enthusiasm for the arts! This Art Show is an evening showcasing students’ art. Volunteers will assist the Chairperson with collecting, preparing and displaying the art work for each student. Help is also needed for clean-up.
Restaurant Nights
Contact local eating establishments to provide proceeds from the sales on a designated day. You will also be responsible for advertising the event and collecting the donation from the restaurant.
Silent Auction
Chair or assist the committee by soliciting donations and presenting items at auction with appropriate bid sheets.
Spirit Wear
Get that Northlake Eagles spirit! Assist in selling and distributing orders for spirit wear. Occasionally help sell Spirit Wear at school functions. Time commitment is flexible.
Spring Thing
This is an event the children and the Castaic community look forward to every year. The Spring Thing is a fun day of carnival games, food and even a bake sale! Don’t miss out on this one day that people talk about all year long. Volunteers are needed to help with coordinating booths, food vendors, the bake sale, ticket sales, and advertising.
Student of the Month
This position has the fun job of throwing a party for that month’s Outstanding Eagles. Grades K-3 have an ice cream with the principal while grades 4-5 have a pizza lunch with the principal.
Yearbook
Help the Yearbook Chair take and collect photographs, prepare pages for the yearbook, publicize, sell and distribute the yearbook. Time commitment is flexible and is yearlong.
